Lights, Camera, Accíon: HHE celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

BY ELISSA, MILANNA, SAVANNAH, AND SOPHIE

On October 18, Hollywood Hills Elementary’s cafeteria was filled with color, music, and joy as the dual language students performed for families, friends, and students to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.

“It is important to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month because lots of students at our school come from Hispanic backgrounds. We acknowledge different cultures that we have here at HHE and around the world,” fourth and fifth grade dual language teacher Mrs. Valens said.

From dancing to bullfights to singing and more, the dual language students ended Hispanic Heritage Month by performing at an evening event.

“We saw posters of Hispanic Heritage projects. We also saw a bullfight, a fashion show, and the kindergartners sing. The best part was the conga line because it was really fun,” fourth grade dual language student Olivia said.
