
Mr. Smith has been teaching for 38 years and now his teaching career will soon come to an end. He is ready to begin a new chapter in his life: retirement.
Throughout his teaching career, Mr. Smith has taught third through eighth grade. Mr. Smith started at HHE in 2003 and has taught third to fifth grade here.
During his time at HHE, Mr. Smith had the opportunity to work with his family. His wife was a teacher at HHE and both of his children were students.
“It was nice when I came to school with them. We were all together,” Mr. Smith said. “Those were my first few years here and they were nice memories.”
“I’m going to miss the kids a lot and I really like the people I work with.”
During retirement, Mr. Smith plans to relax and take it easy. He is interested in working in nature.
“I wouldn’t mind working in a national park, being with nature, somewhere outside,” Mr. Smith said.
With retirement coming soon, Mr. Smith reflected on his time at HHE.
“I’m going to miss the kids a lot and I really like the people I work with,” Mr. Smith said.
“I really cared about my students. I always wanted them to do the best that they could do.”
Mr. Smith is a passionate teacher who tried to make a difference in the lives of his students. As a dedicated teacher, Mr. Smith wants to leave knowing that he had a lasting impact on his students.
“I really cared about my students,” Mr. Smith said. “I always wanted them to do the best that they could do.”
