Kid on the street: Should students have homework?
BY THE PANTHER POST STAFF
Homework is often given to students to encourage learning at home. Some students enjoy homework, while others do not like it. HHE students were asked the question, “Should students have homework?” and here are their responses:
“Yes, to get smarter.” -Raelyn Corva, kindergarten “No, because we need [to] rest from school.” -Stefan Filimon, fourth grade “Yes, because it makes sure we remember what we learned.” -Thomas Berkhan, fourth grade “No, because we work so hard in the daytime, and doing more at home makes us stressed.” Angelina Romero, fifth grade “Of course we should have homework, that’s what school is for: learning and doing homework.” Nickolai Hixson, third grade “No, because it’s not fun for me.” Alexandra Lica, first grade “Yes, it can help a lot of kids who don’t know the lesson so when they go home their parents can help.” Lorenzo Rodriguez, third grade “I don’t think that we should have extra work. We do so much work in class. Ethan Metz, fourth grade “Yes, because I think that people need to learn more about math.” Ezra Adinaguev, first grade
