Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Gold, is retiring from Hollywood Hills Elementary School in June. She has been teaching at HHE for 31 years. HHE has been the only public school she has ever taught at.
Before teaching at HHE, Mrs. Gold started as a parent in 1985, while her son attended the school for four years. As a parent volunteer, she was the Math Superstar and volunteer coordinator.
Mrs. Gold became a kindergarten teacher in 1989. Being a teacher for so many years at HHE has allowed Mrs. Gold to make many memories.
“My favorite memory is that I have been teacher of the year twice,” Mrs. Gold said.
Mrs. Gold has taught many different students throughout her teaching career. She enjoys having her past students come back to visit her.
“I love when they come and hug you all the time, even when they’re out of kindergarten,” Mrs. Gold said.
When Mrs. Gold retires, she plans to spend time with her family and travel.
“My immediate plan is going on a cruise to Alaska,” Mrs. Gold said. “I also want to travel with my husband to visit my son in Gainesville and relatives in New York.”
Mrs. Gold has changed the lives of many students and dedicated many years to HHE.
“It really hasn’t changed my life because Hollywood Hills is my life,” Mrs. Gold said.
