Exclusive Interview with City of Hollywood, FL Mayor Josh Levy

BY THE PANTHER POST STAFF

On December 16, 2022, The Panther Post had the privilege of interviewing City of Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy. Journalists created their own questions to ask the mayor. Here is our exclusive interview:

How does it feel to be the mayor?

“It feels great to be the Mayor of Hollywood, Florida because we have a great city with great people who live here. I enjoy the job, taking care of our city, and making good things happen for the kids and families here in Hollywood.”

What is your background?

“I grew up in Hollywood, Florida since I was three years old. My favorite thing to do growing up was riding my bike in the neighborhood and being outside and playing outdoors. For elementary and middle school, I went to Beth Shalom Academy. I went to Hollywood Hills High School and the University of Florida. I went to law school at Nova Southeastern University.”

What do you do as the mayor?

“As the mayor of Hollywood, I serve as the chief elected official of our city. My job is to represent the residents of Hollywood, and to make sure that the laws that we pass and the money we spend is most beneficial and in the best interest of the people who live in Hollywood.

What is your advice to students?

“My best advice is to just enjoy yourselves. Don’t put too much pressure on yourselves, but be responsible kids. Try to spend time playing outside or doing things that don’t involve your phone, because you have your whole life to be on the phone. The more you can play with one another, talk to other people, have playdates, ride your bike outside, go to the beach, and do active things, the better.”
